Colorado DMV's approved Interlock Providers

The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles has contracted with the following Ignition Interlock providers.  Each provider can subcontract its services with other businesses or use its own corporate shop.  Almost all providers subcontract with auto repair, car stereo, or other automotive shops.  There are a few dedicated interlock only shops.

Understand the reputation of your contractor

Not all shops are the same!

Your interlock provider will most likely subcontract out its services through one of the businesses listed above.  It is important that you are familiar with the reputation of that shop and how they will treat you for the duration of your interlock program.  For many shops, interlock services are secondary to what they do and they will have very strict policies regarding monthly services or repairs if necessary.  Ask them questions to find out how willing they are to deal with you.  For many shops, the standard answer is call your provider.

Interlock reviews

We have provided links to these reviews only to show you the issues you can run into.  All the providers have similar problems.  The problems can be caused by the installation, driver use (following directions), vehicle (bad battery, alternator, etc), or the interlock device.  The only thing that matters is how the shop or provider deals with these possible issues.  Most drivers have little to no problems if they are following program directions and their vehicle electrical system is maintained.  Our best advise is to ask DUI counseling centers for a recommendation as they hear about the issues from their clients or join a forum such as ours and ask our members their thoughts
